How to get to Alghero
By air:
Alghero Airport is 10 minutes by taxi or bus from the centre of town. Alghero is well connected with various cities in Europe. Amazingly cheap air fares are available if you book in advance with companies such as Ryanair.
By ship:
Another popular way to get to Alghero is by
ship from Genoa. You can bring your own car, sleep one night on the ship and wake up the next day in Porto Torres, 30 minutes by car or bus from Alghero.

Accommodation
Alghero is a small town with a nice mix of tourists and local people. It has plenty of B&Bs, hotels and apartments and fortunately accommodation is not so expensive at the time of year when FestivAlghero takes place. Most options are situated in the Lido area or in the old town, both of which are good locations to stay. From Lido it’s a 15-minute walk along the coast to the festival venues, and if you’re in the old town you’re already there.

Going to the beach
Sardinia has some of the most beautiful beaches in the Mediterranean, with waters reminiscent of the Caribbean. There are many ways to enjoy the wonderful sea close to Alghero.
20 minutes north of Alghero by bicycle or bus is Le Bombarde Beach, with white sand and turquoise water. Five minutes further on from Le Bombarde is Lazaretto Beach. It has beautiful small inlets (“calas”) overlooked by the old Lazaretto tower.
Esperanza Beach is situated south of Alghero near the 7 km marker on the bus route to Bossa. It is a peaceful beach with white sand and clear water.
La Pelosa Beach, 30 minutes from Alghero by car, is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Mediterranean. Don't miss it!
Grotta di Nettuno
A magnificent cave with stalactites and stalagmites, Grotta di Nettuno (Neptune’s Grotto) can be reached via a boat trip from the port of Alghero. Alternatively, take the bus to Capo Caccia and walk down the 656 steps to sea level, from where you can enter the grotto. A beautiful place!!!
