Julio Mendez,
The creator and organizer of the Luzern & Alghero Tango Festivals, has been organizing events since 1993.
In Argentina he founded the Patio de Tango (1993), La Calesita de Nuñez (1996), Club Social Buenos Aires (2008). Among his European initiatives, he started Tambito of Zeughaushof (200X), El Falcone (20xx), Club Social Zurich and Club (200x) and Club Social Luzern (2010).
Julio’s events are characterized for their uniqueness, and his commitments to having the highest quality performers and teachers, without neglecting the human factor that his patrons have learn to expect
Leni Mendez,
technical coordinator, space designer and sensorial provocateur.
For the past 15 years, Leni has been in charge of setting the moods by creating the ambiance in numerous events around the world. Her wide experience goes from o’Tango as stage designer and artist direction, to remodeling Club El Social Buenos Aires where she organized Veladas Tangueras (2008-2009), Cambalache Tango Festival (2007/8) as technical and space designer. She has also directed numerous plays as well as director of numerous plays. Leni also worked as creative assistant for Grammy award winners Calle 13 and Aventura.
Laura & Salvatore,
Local production assistants.
They are the link between the organization of the festival and the local community, solving all the issues that arise naturally in an event of this nature.
Yvonne Zubler,
Assistant organizer.
She is responsible for the booking of classes, PR and advertising the festival's across Europe.
Oliver Kirtc,
Technical assistant and international Tango DJ
In addition to his excellent music at the festivals, he was an integral part assisting on the design of the spaces.
